I was trying delete boost old libraries from my linux mint machine:

rm /usr/lib/x64.../libboost*

Because I installed new boost libraries in /usr/local/lib

After doing it my linux mint does not boot. The first logo of linux mint appears and after that, it freezes and does not respond to keyboard with no error message.

Is there a way to recover the OS? If not, is there a way to recover the files in my home folder and reinstall the os?

  • It should always be possible to backup files from a live session. Regarding OS recovery, please edit the question and describe what happens when you try to boot, error messages, etc. – GabrielaGarcia Aug 26 '18 at 21:03
