I have dual booted my laptop. I have multiple choice in boot options in BIOS that are duplicates. The Ubuntu option is sometimes gone when I shut down from Ubuntu. Why does Boot option keep on changing?

My bios option list

  • I've heard of UEFI firmwares which were simply buggy - mysteriously losing entries, or not storing them in NVRAM at all, or not reporting existing entries back to the OS... Sep 1, 2018 at 7:46
  • Can you boot into Ubuntu and run efibootmgr -v? Does the list of options match what you have in your photo? Are all the 'ubuntu' options identical? Sep 1, 2018 at 7:47
  • yes all ubuntu options are identical. They all disappear and my window cannot boot so i have to first select p3 from the option and then again reboot and then it shows boot option. in short these options sometimes disappear and sometime appear. ok i will run the command
