I can open the vanilla Windows console, type "bash," and use vim with mouse mode (placing cursor, scrolling, etc.).

However, it DOES NOT work with the terminals in:

  • Atom
  • VS Code
  • Cloud9
  • MobaXTerm
  • Terminus
  • ConsoleZ
  • Hyper

and every other terminal emulator I've tried with WSL. I've raised various issues and contacted the Moba folks. Nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas for why this might be? Random suggestions for how to fix it and put in a pull request?

And please no holy wars about using a mouse in vim!

  • Perhaps it's using the Microsoft console-api. ConsoleZ only implements a subset of that. – Thomas Dickey Sep 7 '18 at 20:33
