I was able to install the asp.net core hosting module

https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/dotnet-core/2.1

on my Windows 10 alright. But when I try intalling in on the company machine Windows Server 2012 I get an error message box, right after clicking the executable:

"This app can't run on your PC. To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher".

According to the compatibility matrix:

https://github.com/dotnet/core/blob/master/release-notes/2.1/2.1-supported-os.md

asp.net core 2.1 is supported n Windows Server 2012.

  • That's not it. Yes, it is a 32 bit apps but all .net core installers are 32bit. I have no problems installing net core or asp.net core, I'm only having problems installing the hosting module. Also, interestingly enough, I'm able to install the 2.0.9 asp .net core hosting (also 32 bit). Just not 2.1, which is what I need. – Ya. Sep 10 '18 at 3:40
