I am new in VB. I have downloaded a web project. It contains all the forms and a .mdf file. What I want is to run it on my localhost to see if it works. The problem is to run it. I open sql management tool and attached the .mdf file. My question is from there what do I need to do to test if the web project works.

In php you open phpmyadmin create a new database and import the database (.sql) . Open you browser and type localhost/databaname and you can see if your project is working.

Thank you.

I'm assuming you're referring to VB 6, rather than VB.net; please confirm. In either case, you'll need an IDE to load up the solution, which would be either Visual Basic or Visual Studio. – spikey_richie Sep 21 '18 at 6:56
  • vb.net. I have been searching the internet but could not find anything. any suggestion will be helpful. – Siviwe Tiya Sep 25 '18 at 4:27
  • For a .Net project you'll need to download and install a version of Visual Studio. Try visualstudio.microsoft.com/vs/express for starters. – spikey_richie Sep 25 '18 at 7:46
  • I downloaded visual studio 2010/2012 and sql server management studio 2008. I have a .mdf file that I want to attach and run. – Siviwe Tiya Sep 27 '18 at 11:00
