I am facing a troublesome issue where I would like to use PHP in Visual Studio Code. PHP is installed to Linux Subsystem, because I liked the idea of having all my website stuff in one place.

Now I am trying to get few extensions working that need PHP (ex. PHP IntelliSense). To get them working I need to point path to PHP7.0 executable.

I found the executable here (where rest of the subsystem is installed):

{
   "php.executablePath": "C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Local/Packages/CanonicalGroupLimited.UbuntuonWindows_79rhkp1fndgsc/LocalState/rootfs/usr/bin/php",
}

Using this path gives an Unknown error. Any tips on how to get it working?

  • Take a look at this. Could work, depending on what PHP is actually called for. – Daniel B Oct 22 '18 at 6:16
