I installed python 2.7 then needed to switch to python 3.5. I changed all my environment variables (system & user) to remove 2.7 from PATH (I don't want to remove python 2.7, just keep it in background if needed)

When I start python from 'cmd', it calls the correct python 3.5 in my PATH, but when i start python from 'run' (win+R) it still calls the old python 2.7 even though there are no paths pointing to it.

When I rename the 2.7 python.exe, 'run' calls the correct python 3.5

How can I get 'run' to call python 3.5?

Is there cache or path for 'run'?

nvm. found the run dialog's PATH HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\Python.exe
