I am using VLC to transcode stream from enigma2 satellite Dreambox to be able to watch my channels over the Internet anywhere. If I set up VLC by GUI all is ok working. Because it is too much steps to run by GUI I have created command line and it is working well too:

C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc http://192.168.1.28:8001/1:0:19:1328:CA2:3:EB0000:0:0:0:  --sout #transcode{vcodec=h264,vb=3000,scale=0.25,acodec=mp4a,ab=128,channels=2,samplerate=44100}:standard{mux=ts,dst=192.168.1.37:8080,access=http}

Problem is to create a batch file. I have created and it is working but sometimes or in some channels it is not working well. Here is batch.

Start "" "C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" "http://192.168.1.28:8001/1:0:19:1329:CA2:3:EB0000:0:0:0:" --sout=#transcode{vcodec=h264,vb=3000,scale=1,acodec=mp3,ab=64,channels=1,samplerate=44100}:standard{mux=ts,dst=192.168.1.37:8080,access=http}'"
  • 192.168.1.28 is the IP address of dreambox
  • 192.168.1.37 is the IP address of PC where VLC is running and streaming out on port 8080

What I am doing wrong please?

  • The last single then double quote on your batch command is supposed to be there or not??? The last two on the second line of your batch command i.e. }'" – Pimp Juice IT Oct 25 '18 at 23:18
  • Hi.Thanks for reply! I have tried with and without of single quote but same result. Can you see any other problem in batch file please? – robo Oct 25 '18 at 23:22
  • Make the first line in the batch do this command before the command you show you run so right above it put in CD /D "C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC" and then the line below, run it to start with Start "" vlc.exe http://192.168.1.28:8001/1:0:19:1329:CA2:3:EB0000:0:0:0: --sout=#transcode{vcodec=h264,vb=3000,scale=1,acodec=mp3,ab=64,channels=1,samplerate=44100}:standard{mux=ts,dst=192.168.1.37:8080,access=http like that and see what happens --- See pastebin.com/fVW6uCN0 – Pimp Juice IT Oct 25 '18 at 23:27

    The encoding parameters are different between the command line and the batch line. Try the same parameters in both. Please expand your answer to explain what "not working well" means. Note that your command-line example needs quotes around the program path. – AFH Oct 25 '18 at 23:27
