I have a Microsoft Word document that has two somewhat redundant tables, let's say tab1 and tab2 (these tables are disjoint, in different parts of the document and have the same number of rows).

I would like for the column A of tab2 replicate column A of tab1. Is it possible to link across different tables in a Word Document? Will the user have to actively hit some "refresh" command for the two tables to sync?

I suspect that this is possible, although I don’t know the details offhand. I expect that you would need to link each cell (i.e., each row) individually; it probably won’t update automatically if you add row(s). Although you might be able to do even that with VBA. – Scott Nov 13 '18 at 4:11
