I have a gcc project which uses a Makefile for build. When I build the project from PowerShell, the linker fails, and I get the following message:

/bin/sh: /path-to-makefile-folder/C:/MinGW/msys/1.0/bin/make.exe: No such file or directory make.exe": *** [_build/project.out] Error 127

The process runs without errors using a Command Prompt. Any ideas?

System is Windows 10, PSVersion 5.1.17763.134

  • Are you using the console to the ISE or VSCode (integrated console or consolehost) to run this? PowerShell is really particular about termination characters and quoting requirements. – postanote Dec 18 '18 at 23:00
