Even though I have it working in Windows, I'm trying to get the Karel the robot environment working in Ubuntu 18.04LTS. So far:

I have Downloaded Eclipse:

[Eclipse IDE for Java Developers Version: Photon Release (4.8.0) Build id: 20180619-1200 OS: Linux, v.4.15.0-43-generic, x86_64 / gtk 3.22.30 Java version: 10.0.2]

Followed the tweaks I found from:

Those tweaks basically had me: Under Java Applet Create New Configuration.

Under Main write the Main Class stanford.karel.Karel & add an argument of 'code=CollectNewspaperKarel' in the arguments tab.

This gave me the best outcome I could find which would be the screenshot I attached here of a blank applet.

Wondering if anyone also happened to upgrade their Ubuntu to 18.xx and got themselves out of the same dilemma with regard to Karel the robot ?

p.s. I have been unable to add any older JRE versions, but that's not without trying quite extensively.
