When I visit certain sites I notice they have implemented some custom search features, which is fine, but they also decide to use Ctrl+F to invoke those features, which is not fine and makes it difficult to search the page.

I only use Firefox and was very surprised that it (or possibly other browsers) would allow a site to hijack a hotkey combo! But for some reason when I am on certain sites, I can not press Ctrl+F without popups getting in the way.

This feels like a security flaw as now some site has an Ajax request logged after I tried to search then paste the search pattern. It just feels sneaky..

I would like to globally disallow any sites from overriding the Ctrl+F hotkey combo in Firefox. Is it possible?
