Good morning, I ask here why I could not find anything satisfactory elsewhere

I created a new user called ftproot that has access to the folder /var/www/html. I have a permission problem, because if I change the permissions of the whole html folder also are in ftproot:www-data the site does not work. With the ftproot user I have to be able to perform any operation within /var/www/html. Actualy the ftproot user, fails to feed the files owned by www-data

The ftproot user belongs to the www-data group

vsftpd config

listen=NO
listen_ipv6=YES
anonymous_enable=NO
local_enable=YES
write_enable=YES
local_umask=022
dirmessage_enable=YES
use_localtime=YES
xferlog_enable=YES
connect_from_port_20=YES
chown_uploads=YES
chown_username=root
chroot_local_user=YES
chroot_list_enable=YES
chroot_list_file=/etc/vsftpd.chroot_list
secure_chroot_dir=/var/run/vsftpd/empty
pam_service_name=vsftpd
rsa_cert_file=/etc/ssl/certs/ssl-cert-snakeoil.pem
rsa_private_key_file=/etc/ssl/private/ssl-cert-snakeoil.key
ssl_enable=NO
force_dot_files=YES
allow_writeable_chroot=YES

What do you advise me to do?

  • try to comment chroot... lines, restart and check again – Romeo Ninov Mar 4 at 4:49
