Question is self explanatory. Now the reason why i want this

I have Acer Aspire ES1-533 and i tried to install kali linux on it(NO DUAL BOOT). every time, after complete installation, when laptop reboots it shows something like "NO BOOTABLE DEVICE"

i tried this method but no help because there is no such option like

Select an UEFI file as trusted for executing

i tried many other possible solutions on this topic from different sources and finally landed here and felt like its not possible to install kali on this system and i have already erased everything no option to go back but to fresh install windows

my system is accepting bootable pendrive as bootable device but same not applicable for harddisk after installation

i think this idea may or may not work but it is worth a try

create a bootable pendrive from iso file on another system
copy iso file on second pendrive
live run kali from 1st pendrive
make system belive that hard disk is pendrive and make it as bootable drive from the iso image in 2nd pendrive
run it in persistant mode forever

any help will be appreciated

  • Not unless you took it out and hooked it into a usb port via a sata to usb cable. Why not just install Kali to a virtual machine? – Narzard Jun 12 at 15:13
  • my computer is completely erased, i cannot install windows now to install kali in virtual machine, as windows 10 is asking for $119 and i am not interested in paying a penny. – Kanha_ji Jun 12 at 16:12
  • Why Kali? there are more usable distros out there... – xenoid Jun 12 at 21:05
