I can't change the permissions of the installer using folders and I thought I could use the registry and search for permissions. So far, I came upon:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\bam\UserSettings\XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

It looked promising to me, but when I try and see the values, all I see is what looks like a MAC address and some values, mostly zero-zeros.

Is there something significant I'm missing? Is there perhaps an easier way to prevent it from scanning my PC? All I find online is some stuff about windows privacy, which only affects windows apps and are no use to me.

  • What "scanning" are you concerned with? I'm sure you understand that due to its purpose the app must connect to the internet? – user931000 Jun 19 '19 at 16:49
