I need to open hundreds of tabs simultaneously for testing and verifying websites in batches, has to be GUI and visual.

I use this tag to open chrome from command line, with very few extensions on it:

"C:\Core\01-Essential_Apps\09-Browsers\07-CentTaskerPortable\chrome.exe" --auto-open-devtools-for-tabs

This can handle about 200 tabs, sometimes 300, but unreliable, only under 200 URL's is it stable and won't crash, my goal is to open 1000 or more

I have an i5-8400 with with 16 GB of RAM, when I start this up, CPU revs at 100% for a while, and RAM goes up to 99% when all tabs are open... after a while CPU goes down to normal.

What can I do to make this work? Disabling images helps, can open 1000 tabs that way, but for this particular task, I need to see images.

Will buying more RAM solve this issue?

A more powerful CPU, maybe the next gen Ryzen 3000 3900x with 12 cores and 24 threads?

Or is there a way in Google chrome to give it more power and prevent it from crashing, I can wait for tabs to load, I don't mind that.

  • Can you give more information about these crashes? – harrymc Jun 21 '19 at 11:55
  • Why do you need so many open at once? What kind of testing are you doing? – Edward Minnix Jun 21 '19 at 11:56
  • Harrymc, how can I give more information? Is there a crash log for Google chrome or windows 10? Edward Minnix, this is to test websites for mobile friendliness – yvesguy Jun 22 '19 at 1:18
