After installing iStats, I noticed my CPU meter reading pretty hot from time to time. When I open iStats, I see that the two most expensive processes are called "Formicoidea" and "Hydrangeae" (yes, misspelled versions of "Formicidae" and "Hydrangea").
When I open Activity Monitor to kill these processes, they suddenly disappear, and my CPU usage drops. They come back after a few hours (haven't noticed any correlation with any program I'm running).
It's a curious issue, and I haven't seen any documentation on it anywhere online. Does anyone have a clue what this is, or how I might begin to find out what is creating it?
