My /etc/default/grub contains

# Uncomment to disable graphical terminal (grub-pc only)

I use a year-2012 laptop with kernel 4.19.0-5-amd64 and Debian 10 on it. I have the following grub packages installed: grub-common, grub-efi-amd64, grub-efi-amd64-bin, grub-efi-amd64-signed, and grub2-common. The package grub-pc is not installed.

Is there any chance for me to get a text boot menu instead of the graphical one? I really hate the graphical one. I don't wish to test GRUB_TERMINAL=console unless someone says they tried it with success, since I don't wish to make my system unbootable inadvertently.
