I'm hoping to get some help with automatically updating the chart range in Excel based on what's selected in a drop down list.

I have 3 selections for my drop down list: All, Alberta and Saskatchewan. I want each selection to reference a list of cities. Say (for example) Alberta has cities A-G, Saskatchewan has cities H-K, then All has cities A-K.

I want to plot the cities vs several metrics on ONE chart but I do not know how to update the chart range to show cities A-G if Alberta is selected in the drop down or A-K if All is selected, etc.

How can I do this?

  • How did the data source about your list? Refer to Dependent drop down list, this will help you: excel-easy.com/examples/dependent-drop-down-lists.html – Lee Aug 14 at 8:09
  • @Lee thanks, but my issue is not with creating the drop down lists. My issue is with plotting what is selected in that list. Any ideas? – kknor Aug 14 at 14:27
