About a week ago, I created a virtual machine using Google Cloud Platform's compute engine. Before creating the machine, I needed to increase a "quota" for "GPUs (all regions)" so I could include a GPU in the VM I created. I set the quota to 5.

Today I tried stopping and restarting the VM. When I did so, the restart failed, throwing an error message that said, "Starting VM instance "cakewatch1" failed. Error: Quota 'GPUS_ALL_REGIONS' exceeded. Limit: 0.0 globally."

I revisited the quota setting, and sure enough, it had been reset from 5 to 0. I don't know why this happened, and it's irritating. Has anyone else experienced this kind of issue with Google Cloud Platform? Any advice on how I should handle it, other than re-requesting the quota change?
