I'm using zsh with oh-my-zsh on OS X. When I want to yank/paste the command previously copied to the buffer (with Ctrl + u) I should be able to use Ctrl + y but instead it's just printing ^Y with a different background colour.

I tried with zsh -f which should ignore my rc files but it still does the same thing.

If I run bash in the same window (first with Ctrl + u to copy the current command to the buffer) then Ctrl + y yanks the command from the buffer to the command line as expected.

Is there something I'm doing wrong here? Is there a way to debug this?
