I want to scp files from multiple source hosts onto the same target.

The scp user only exists at target.

I want to generate the key pair on target then distribute the private key to all connecting hosts and store it in the same directory. It i snot possible to put it in the ~/.ssh as the scp user has no account on the source hosts.

in the end i want to go like:

scp -i <path_to_id_rsa_file> -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no <file><remote_user>@<target>:/<path>

I have tried this but I get prompted for password. If I loosen the security on the .ssh it complains that it is too lax.

is this setup possible at all?
