Serious Question, are citrus fruits include lemon, limes, oranges etc strong enough to damage the coating on screens like the reflective coating on most modern screens.

Reason being some individuals make cleans out of citrus fruits.

  • Yes. I do not recommend these acidic juices on computer screens and I do not do this. I use very dilute solutions of bland dish-washing soaps for this purpose – John Feb 4 at 3:22
  • I exclusively use ammonia based glass cleaner and a micro-fiber cloth. It gives the perfect, streak free finish. If ammonia and alcohol don’t damage the screen I would say it is extremely unlikely a mild acid like citrus fruit would damage a screen. Of course, none of these chemicals should be left on the screen or allowed to run in to the edges of the screen. – Appleoddity Feb 4 at 3:30
