I have new Western Digital 6TB Ultrastar DC HC310 SATA HDD (Model number: HUS726T6TALE6L4).

After mounting, the drive is periodically beeping and clacking and I can't see HDD in BIOS.

I tried different SATA power and data cables, updated BIOS and SATA drivers with no difference.

I have read that some new hard-drives have SATA 3.3 power disable supply support which is causing problems when old power supply is used. However, according to WD datasheet, this hard-drive has legacy Pin 3 config so it should not be the problem.

I am planning to try a simple 4-pin Molex-to-SATA adapter just to be sure. Is there anything else I could try before returning drive to the store?
