I tried to wire up my new computer and tried to start it - sadly there is no bios showing up on my monitor (actually, there's nothing showing up at all). When i start it and connect an mouse/keyboard via USB, those are turning their LEDs on (so I assume there is power flowing at least). Also, the graphic card's fans are rotating and the LEDs on that one are showing up too. The mainboard does actually also show lights, it seems like there is no power-related problem on that one.
First off - the setup:
Mainboard is Gigabyte Z390 D which apparently has Status LEDs where the manual says the following: The status LEDs show whether the CPU, memory, graphics card, and operating system are working properly after system power-on. If the CPU/DRAM/VGA LED is on, that measn the corresponding device is not working normally; if the BOOT LED is on, that means you haven't entered the operating system yet.
For a graphics card I am using a RTX 2070 Super that is powered with 2 PCI-E (6+2 Pin each).
I read a lot that there might be a graphics related problem, so I tried rewiring the graphics card (without success).
When I start the system, the status LEDs are showing in the following order: DRAM, CPU, VGA, BOOT (one after another, VBA lasting a little bit longer than the previous two and BOOT lasting the longest until turning off, all in all that took about 3 Seconds for all lights).
I also tried another monitor and checked the HDMI-cable at both sides.
I am a completely newbie (this is my first pc) so I might have forgotten something very basic that should be checked.
Can someone help?
EDIT:
I tried both wiring the monitor directly to the GPU as well as to the Mainboard (without the GPU connected). Both didn't change the outcome so I'll assume that it is not the GPU.
Also I started the minimal setup with RAM/CPU/Mainboard + PSU and tried to start. I didn't get into Bios there either (nothing shows up on screen). Now the BOOT lamp is enlightened.
