I was seeking functionality wherein I can send reminders to a couple of folks on specific days at a specific time. I'd want to avoid sending a meeting invite of zero duration since...well...it's not a meeting! The steps shared here don't appear to be applicable to the UI on Outlook for Mac/OWA and I couldn't figure out any other option. Any suggestions on whether this functionality exists on Mac/OWA platforms and if yes, how do we go about it?

As I know, in Outlook for Mac/OWA, I'm afraid there is no other feasible way besides creating regular meetings to remind other users. Or you could try to find some third-party add-ins to help your achieve that.

By the way, if you could use Outlook for Windows, assigning tasks with reminders to other users regularly should be helpful.

  • Thanks for the response but the suggestions on the link you shared inhibit sharing the tasks with folks on Mac/OWA: Tasks assigned from Outlook for Windows must be accepted or declined using the Outlook for Windows application. This experience is not supported in Outlook on the web. That won't be possible since the other folks too are on MAC/OWA.

  • That's ture. So as mentioned above, I'm afraid there is no other feasible way besides creating regular meetings to remind other users.

Here’s how you can set a follow-up reminder in Outlook on your Mac:

Open Outlook and go to your inbox or the specific email you'd like to flag for follow-up. Right-click on the email you want to flag. A context menu will appear. In the context menu, select "Follow Up," then choose one of the available options such as "Today," "Tomorrow," "This Week," "Next Week," or "Custom." After selecting your preferred follow-up option, a flag will appear next to the email in your inbox. The flag’s color will match the follow-up timeframe you chose. To view all flagged emails and their follow-up reminders, click on the "Flagged Mail" folder in the left-hand sidebar of Outlook. If you need to customize the follow-up reminder, right-click on the flagged email and choose "Custom Flag." This will allow you to set a specific date and time for the reminder. You can also add a reminder for the recipient, ensuring they are notified about the follow-up action. By following these steps, you can effectively set a follow-up reminder in Outlook for Mac using the flagging feature, helping you and your recipients stay on top of important emails and tasks that require follow-up.
