I followed this post step by step. I found it through google and multiple answers here point to this article.

I still can't access my page, because I get a 403.
FYI: I'm currently not using the XAMPP VM version

httpd-vhosts.conf:

<VirtualHost *:80>
    ServerName my-site.local
    DocumentRoot "/Users/myusername/Desktop/XAMPP/my-site"
    <Directory "/Users/myusername/Desktop/XAMPP/my-site">
        Options Indexes FollowSymLinks Includes ExecCGI
        AllowOverride All
        Require all granted
    </Directory>
    ErrorLog "logs/mylogs.local-error_log"
</VirtualHost>

httpd.conf:

# If you wish httpd to run as a different user or group, you must run
# httpd as root initially and it will switch.
#
# User/Group: The name (or #number) of the user/group to run httpd as.
# It is usually good practice to create a dedicated user and group for
# running httpd, as with most system services.
#
User myusername
Group daemon

Error Log:

[Tue Oct 19 13:00:52.609138 2021] [core:error] [pid 24362] (1)Operation not permitted: [client 127.0.0.1:62442] AH00132: file permissions deny server access: /Users/myusername/Desktop/XAMPP/my-site/index.html

I tried multiple combinations here: Group admin Group staff none of them is working.

If you need anything else, please let me know. I provided the stuff all the others asking for on other questions.

If something is unclear how I set it up, 100% 1 by 1 like the article I posted.

localhost is still working and points to my htdocs
