In order to be able to paste mathematics to Emails or Jira, I am trying to write approximations of the expressions in LibreOffice writer with inline text formatting, since equations are not pastable. Doing so, I've run into a feature conflict:

  1. I want spell checking for non-math parts of the document.
  2. I want no spell checking for math parts.
  3. I want to have the autocorrect patterns like :alpha: in math parts.

The first two requirements can be fulfilled by defining the "language" as "None" under Character > Font for those sections. But if I do so, all autocorrect entries are disabled.

Is it possible to exclude a paragraph from spell checking while also retaining the ability to use those abbreviations?
