My laptop a hp-15dy2021nr will not boot off an external DVD player.

  • I have tried multiple dvds and multiple drives.i miss linux formats dvds .There is 'moonbounce' bios infection [[https://www.tomshardware.com/news/moonbounce-malware-hides-in-your-bios-chip-persists-after-drive-formats]]

  • a download of a fedora38 that I was able to download and write to DVD i booted and created this locked up session that i think created the problem.

  • In the past i was unable to write a dvd was the indicator of a corrupt live session.

  • I have gone through multiple pfsense and GL.iNet GL-MV1000W (Brume-w)[[https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DCFBV3H?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share]]

-I have a ubiquity usg-pro-4 but it's software needs mongodb which I can not securely download.

How can I diagnose the bios?
How can I get around Mongodb?
Getting a business antivirus media kit almost seems illegal ...

Direct follow-up to superuser.com/questions/1785208/… & I still can't figure out what the question is. Why do you think you are infected with a trojan known only to have been found once in the wild? There was a spate of reports on this a year ago & nothing since.

  • maybe your laptop just doesn't like to boot from this DVD player? have you tried a USB flash drive instead?
