Windows 8 was a bust, enabled duplicate task bars but no notification area. I've tried UltraMon, and saw some other software but nothing actually duplicates the notification area on an extended desktop.

Anyone seena solution?

Dual Monitor Taskbar works well if you only use two screens.

  • +1 for being free, seems to work well, pretty straightforward – cutrightjm Oct 11 '14 at 5:41
  • It looks fine, but it has some bugs. After a while, some of the applications disappeared from the "new" start bar, even if they were open. And a small problem: the windows from the second screen seem to be minimized on the first one. – ROMANIA_engineer Jul 26 '16 at 10:52

DisplayFusion will duplicate the entire taskbar - including the start menu, notification area, and clock. You can customize the second taskbar to use larger icons, format the clock differently, etc.

  • Can confirm that DisplayFusion is definitely the best app I've seen thus far for dual monitors. Replicates notification bar and everything. – yamo Jan 22 '13 at 23:38
  • Yeah, I love it. It's the first program I bought besides Windows. – ChrisN Jan 23 '13 at 21:56
  • Looks like this feature requirs the pro version, though – christophetd May 3 '16 at 7:33
  • Doesn't copy everything, I'm a little disapointed. – ForceMagic Oct 14 '16 at 14:13
