I successfully removed some adware off my laptop. Now when I lower the volume (with F11+FN), the usual popup icon changed to the old, ugly one. I'm pretty OCD about minor things, and this change does not make me happy at all.

I am using ASUS laptops (can't remember exact series), and it runs on window 7.

EDIT:

How can I get my old icons back?

  • I already gave the links of screen grab in the post. Um, basically, they were what showed on your screen when you adjusted volume or brightness. I don't know what else to call it. Not very computer smart, sorry. EDIT: Were they called display or something? – Phantom Mar 15 '14 at 3:00
  • It is X54C. Would that do? – Phantom Mar 15 '14 at 3:16
  • It's called On Screen Display (OSD) :) Probably your OSD software was reverted to older version, I agree if you could give us the model number we may be able to pinpoint to the newer OSD software. – Arya S. Mar 15 '14 at 3:18
  • The model said X54C, unless I was supposed to be looking for something else? And thank you! Now I know what to call it. :D I feel so silly now. – Phantom Mar 15 '14 at 3:24
