I need to trigger an event, say open music player with a particular music file, when I press a Key (other than the dedicated play/pause button).
How can I do that with taskscheduler (Schtasks.exe) ?
I am using Windows 8.1

AFAIK, there is no way to do this, but there is a workaround:
schtasks /run /tn “TASKNAMEINQUOTES”
, changing TASKNAMEINQUOTES
with the task name (in step 1) (in quotes).(From here, but without screenshots)
Alternatively use AutoHotKey.
Your script will look something like:
#z::Run "C:\Users\USERNAME\Music\iTunes\Example.mp3"
(or if you've made a bat file, #z::Run "C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Example.bat"
)
#z::
means on the shortcut Windows+Z
