I know that 32-bit machines can address 2^32 bytes of memory at a time, and 64 bit machines can handle 2^64 bytes of memory. But if the system only has 4 GB of RAM, is there an advantage to 64-bit over 32-bit?

  • Your question does not make a great deal of sense. A 64-bit CPU uses 64-bit registers. – Ramhound Aug 19 '14 at 10:48
