For some reason when I turn on my computer that is plugged into the computer via Ethernet cable, all other devices that are connected wireless to the router can no longer use the internet, they just say "limited". It definitely isn't a signal problem. It didn't used to do this and seems like a recent problem but I have no idea how to fix it

It seems very similar to this problem: "Windows 7 machine makes router drop ALL wireless connections" which unfortunately had no solution.

  • This sounds like it is potentially an issue with IP addressing, causing an IP conflict either with the router or your other computers. Out of curiosity, is the computer that is getting physically plugged in set to a static IP, or to receive an IP via DHCP? – JeffG Sep 15 '14 at 21:01
  • I don't know, how would I find out? I haven't edited any settings just plugged in and started – Greg Sep 16 '14 at 16:03
