I swapped my HDD into a new laptop, went from having integrated graphics (Intel) to having a dedicated card (Radeon Mobility HD 5000). I install the drivers, Catalyst Control Center works and everything, but I can't seem to force Windows to just use the dedicated card, and as this picture shows, the different settings normally enabled are greyed out:

It switches from saying AMD Mobility to Intel HD Graphics after I suspend/hibernate, and doesn't switch back until reboot, and the settings are still greyed out. I have no idea what to do, uninstalling and reinstalling didn't seem to work.

  • use this tool wagnardmobile.com/DDU to remove the Intel and AMD drivers, reboot and install both drivers again. Does this work? – magicandre1981 Jan 22 '15 at 16:41
  • The simplest way to disable the integrated graphics into a device like this is to do two things. You don't use the display drivers release by the OEM of the laptop and you don't install the Intel display drivers. – Ramhound Jan 22 '15 at 16:45
