I have a small Microsoft Access database located on my Google Drive. (The Google Drive is shared between two laptops and one mobile device, but the mobile device never touches the database.) I noticed that some records that were recently entered are now missing. I believe that all the missing records were entered in a single shot while the computer in use was offline. Some time later, the computer was reconnected to the internet and within 24 hours, it was noted that all the records entered while offline were missing. Could this be a mistaken sync issue? At no time during this process was Microsoft Access opened on the second computer (although the machine was on with Google Drive running).

I need to make sure this doesn't happen again, so I would appreciate any insights as to what might have caused the issue.

  • It could be a mistaken sync. You could use Google Sheets instead. You can also see if there's a previous version of the MDB on Google Drive that you can restore. – Sun Mar 16 '15 at 16:44
