I created USB flash drive Linux Mint 17.1 using Linux Live Usb (Lili - link) with persistence storage. When I boot my laptop with my USB flash drive, it shows the page that says "Try Mint Linux live" but when I choose the option, the screen goes black and stays black and nothing happens.

What should I do?

    Is this a Windows 7 or a Windows 8 PC. – whs Apr 28 '15 at 19:41
  • @whs It's Windows 8.1 – DSaad Apr 28 '15 at 21:11

There you have to change the BIOS. Disable Secure Boot and set it into Legacy mode. I was trying to make a bootable UEFI Linux stick but could not yet find a solution. – whs Apr 28 '15 at 21:22
