Today, my computer, a Lenovo Yoga 2 laptop running Windows 8.1 64-bit, stopped working. When I turn on my computer, it will display the Lenovo boot screen, and the rotating dots will rotate a while but then freeze.

I reset the BIOS but it did not help. I cannot take out the battery since it is some kind of built-in battery. My computer does not have a disc drive, just USB. And I never made a USB recovery.

Please help me. I have all my thesis material on that computer. :( Thank you.

That's a common problem and can be caused by bad driver updates, new/incompatible drivers, software; even an attached USB device can cause it (detach all USB devices e.g. mouse, USB stick, and reboot). What about booting in Safe Mode? (reboot and press F8 many times quickly before Windows boots, then select Safe Mode). Does it stuck in Safe Mode? – Jet May 16 '15 at 21:01
