I have a relatively new HP Pavilion laptop with AMD Radeon A6-6310 graphics. My computer would randomly give me a BSOD with the error message "System Thread Exception not handled" while watching videos. I read about this being a graphics driver problem, so I upgraded the AMD Radeon R4 graphics driver and now I can watch videos fine but I can't view more than one photo at a time in either Windows Photo Viewer or the Photos app (the first will display fine, but if I try to scroll through them all the rest just appear black). Does anyone know of a fix for this?

  • You're being very vague about your situation. What do you mean when you say you can't view more than one photo? What happens when you try to? Also, it will be helpful to tell your windows version, the exact version of your drivers, your laptop model (not just the name, any numbers as well). – Dmitry Grigoryev May 23 '15 at 20:09

ok, in my pictures folder, if i double click to open in windows photo viewer, the first will display fine, but if i try to scroll through them all the rest just appear black- i'm running windows 8.1 with AMD A6-6310 with AMD Radeon R4 graphics driver – white deer 3.14 May 23 '15 at 20:21

@whitedeer3.14: Does any other imager viewer like IrfanView for example work? – Karan May 24 '15 at 2:24
  • haven't tried that one yet, i've tried the stock photos app that comes with windows8 and it does the same thing, also, some of the previews are black in explorer- i'll try installing irfan later today and see- – white deer 3.14 May 24 '15 at 22:11
