Use for questions about Microsoft's Windows Embedded Standard 2009 componentized OS.

Windows Embedded Standard 2009, a.k.a. WES 2009, is an updated version of Windows XP Embedded (XPe). It includes all three XP Service Packs.

WES 2009 was Microsoft's flagship embedded OS project while Windows Vista was its flagship OS version; no componentized (i.e. embedded) version of Vista was ever released. WES 2009 was thus followed by WES 7, a componentized version of the Windows 7 OS.

See Wikipedia's short description of WES 2009.
