After many years in the mainframe world (primarily IBM systems) I've been forced to adapt to working with Windows, Windows Server and, to some degree as I find time, Linux/AIX. I find this "world" interesting, but, with zero training and little actual knowledge, plus having to find answers mostly on my own, it has been quite challenging, especially when expected to get some things done very quickly. I hope nobody I work with is in a real hurry!
At the present time I'm trying to learn PowerShell to solve a production problem. From my initial Powershell experience, I can see that it appears to be a really useful and powerful tool. Even better, working on Powershell with my favorite editor, UltraEdit, it is easier to comprehend with the syntax highlighting. Hopefully, I can get to the point where I can be more of a contributor and helper in these forums, than a "consumer."
